Orchard Park needs to play better in the Championship game. Line play was awesome on both sides of the ball. Ben Holmes and Mitch Wilson made the difference with their running. The Passing game wasn't needed, but they will need it in the Championship game. Connor Eddy led the Quaker defense.
Sweet Home is on a once-in-a-century roll. The Panthers have so many weapons and offensive schemes that defenses just can't match up againt. The play of Mike Torrillo, Brad Zaffram, Mike McCoy and Josh Roe has been outstanding.
Alden ran into a buzz in Maine-Endwell, which won the Class A State Title last year. In 2011, Aquinas beat Sweet Home by 50 points in the State Quarterfinals, only to lose to Maine-Endwell in the Semi-finals. The Spartans have a 25-game win streak and average 50 points in a game. Corey Barczykowski played well defensively with 15 tackles. The Bulldogs finish 11-1 and for the last 3 seasons, they have recorded a 31-3 mark, including 30 consecutive wins against Section VI opponents. The Bulldogs can be proud of what the accomplished.
Randolph played smash-mouth football from the beginning to the end of the game. The Cardinals shut down the Tigers who were 0-8 on third-down conversions and 0-4 on fourth down conversions.
