Class A
Kenmore East at Sweet Home Sat., 2:00pm
Will North at South Park Fri., 7:30pm
Grand Island at McKinley Fri., 7:30pm
W. Seneca East at Will. South Fri., 7:00pm
Major Impact Player:
Brandon Smiley, Sweet Home
Sweet Home defeated Kenmore East 34-6 two weeks ago and should dominate again at home.
Spartans lost their first two games, won four, and lost to Grand Island. They have been inconsistent throughout the season. Sparks with Mascio, Scott, Leonard, and Watkins playing on turf should advance to the semi-finals.
Vikings vs. Macks game is a tossup. Despite injuries, Sean Santorio's squad still posted a 6-1 regular season mark. Vikings will rely on run game with Paul Sukmanowski and sophomore Jared Brandon. Macks have talent and speed but need to eliminate penalities and turnovers. Need to regroup after the huge loss to the Panthers.
In 2012, the Trojans knocked the Billies out of the playoffs and South would like to return the favor. They have lost the last 2 games and havent been focused. The defense needs to stop big plays by the Trojans. The key for South will be the play of Castronova while the key to the Trojans win is for Brandon Day and Mike Waterman to control the clock since the passin ggame hasn't clicked for most of the season.
