Cardinals Dominate Chester in winning a 4th State Championship

Randolph won its 23rd consecutive game and second consecutive Class D State Championship defeating Chester 42-13.

The Cardinals improved it unbeated record in the State Title Games to 4-0 and have dominated their opponents by a margin of 146 pts to 26 pts.

The State Champs were led by Senior Running-back and game MVP, Chris Doubek, who rushed for 273 yds and 3 tds and established a new WNY single season rushing record with 2536 yds. The old record of 2447 was held by Southwesterns Dustin Bowser in 2003.

The Cardinals recorded 364 total yds including 311 yds rushing in a dominating performance. Much credit goes to Brent Brown who in his first year as Head Coach finished with a 13-0 record and a State Title. Assistant coaches for the Cardinals include Kevin Hind, Nate Armella, Jon Peterson, Greg Sherlock, Chad Slade, and Gerald Carlson.

Captains for this years championship aquad are Mitch Maycock, Cody Oldro, Nick Hettenbaugh, and Chris Doubek.
Best signs at the game were "Its Great to be a Cardinal" and "State Champs- Thats Cardinal Football".

This years title was the 19th won by section VI teams. The Cardinal's fourth title tie them with Cal-Mum. Aquinas has won the most State Titles with 5.

Defensive players of the game were Lucas Brown, Bryce Morrison, Nick Hettenbaugh, COdy Oldro, Sam Jacobs, and Devyn Nelson.
