(bisons.com)-After eight home runs in the first two games at Louisville Slugger Field, the Bisons were kept in the yard in a 12-2 defeat to the Bats on Sunday.
Meanwhile, every hitter in Louisville's lineup had a hit and Henry Rodriguez drove in a team-high five runs.
Buffalo's Justin Germano and Armando Galarraga of the Bats were locked in a pitcher's duel for the first half of the game. Just a Rodriguez' RBI-single in the third inning dented the scoreboard as the teams headed to the fifth inning.
But that's when Louisville took over. Rodriguez doubled home two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. A 3-0 Bats' lead ballooned in the sixth with a six-run rally that also included run-scoring hits from Denis Phipps and Kristopher Negron.
Emmanuel Burriss hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning to give Louisville an insurmountable 12-0 lead.
The Bisons avoided the shutout off the Bats' bullpen. Ryan Goins singled and scored three batters later on an Eugenio Velez ground out in the eighth inning. Ryan Langerhans hit an RBI-double in the ninth.
Buffalo could not score against Galarraga. The former Detroit Tiger struck out six and walked none in seven innings of work.
The series concludes with a single game Monday night in Louisville. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
