Portland, OR (Sports Network) - The Portland Trail Blazers signed free
agent forward Dorell Wright and rookie guard Allen Crabbe on Wednesday.
According to a Yahoo! Sports, Wright's deal is worth $6 million over two
The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 9.2 points and shot 37 percent from 3-point
range for the Philadelphia 76ers last season.
Wright was taken with the 19th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Miami
Heat, where he spent the first six seasons of his career. Wright then joined
the Golden State Warriors for two seasons (2010-2012) before joining the
Sixers last season.
The Blazers acquired Crabbe, the 2013 Pac-12 Player of the Year, from
Cleveland on draft day in exchange for two future second round picks.
The 31st overall selection averaged 15.7 points per game on 44.6 percent
shooting from field.
In addition to the signings, Portland acquired forward Thomas Robinson from
the Houston Rockets in exchange for the NBA rights to Kostas Papnikolaou and
Marko Todorvic along with a pair of future second round picks.
Robinson, 22, was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft
out of Kansas before being shipped to Houston at the trade deadline last
Over 70 games with Sacramento (51 games) and Houston (19 games), Robinson
averaged 4.8 points and 4.1 rebounds.
