BUFFALO, N.Y. - Former Bills receiver Andre Reed is back in Western New York and spoke to 2 on Your Side about again missing out on the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
"If you were in my shoes you'd be disappointed. Of course I'm very disappointed after what happened," said Reed.
Reed was a finalist for the Hall of Fame for the sixth straight year. He made the final 10, but was not a part of the class of 2012. "It's frustrating after this long time now, it has been a while. Who knows what's going to happen now, I'm just being patient."
Reed was in Indianapolis for Super Bowl XLVI and the Hall of Fame announcement this past weekend, but the trip did not end the way he hoped. "I feel bad for my family because they've been doing some good stuff supporting me. They get the rug pulled out from underneath them every year."
Reed was at the Buffalo Auto show promoting his Over the Middle barbecue sauce. Part of the proceeds from the sauce help benefit Kids Escaping Drugs.
Reed said he always enjoys his trips back to Western New York. He hopes to one day return and celebrate his enshrinement in the Hall of Fame. "You know hopefully my day comes and it will be a great day for the city and a great day for Bills fans all over the world."
