The Bills' 3-day rookie camp wrapped up Sunday at One Bills Drive. The Bills' young players made a good impression on head coach Chan Gailey.
Gailey said he thought "we learned a lot. I thought the guys picked it up fairly well. There was a lot of energy on the field which was great. That was exciting for us as coaches. Guys were giving great effort."
The Bills head coach said he wants the team's young players to "stay into it mentally" until they return to Orchard Park next week for workouts. Gailey said "they took notes so they can study them this week."
Players knew coming in that the speed of the game is much higher at the professional level. Defensive end Torell Troup put it this way "It's a lot faster so you have to come out with you're A game every time or you will get knocked on your butt.''
Top draft choice C.J. Spiller said there was plenty to learn this weekend but despite that he got better as the three day rookie camp went on. "Everyday was putting in something new and we continue to build on it we couldn't repeat stuff so from Friday I think I had less mistakes as the week went on.''
Asked about Spiller's speed Gailey said with a smile, "yeah, he's got speed" which brought laughter from the assembled media.
The Bills return to Orchard Park for off season workouts next Sunday.
