BUFFALO, NY - Just one day after the decision to fire Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff, the team now looks ahead to its first game under new leadership.

The Buffalo Sabres are playing in Toronto against the Maple Leafs. They're playing under new interim head coach Ron Rolston.

Rolston was the head coach of the Sabres' farm team, the Rochester Americans.

Rolston told media members after Sabres practice Thursday that he's seen too many Sabres' players taking shortcuts and plans on jump starting the team with an analytical approach.

Rolston isn't planning on making any changes to his coaching staff.  Assistant coaches Kevyn Adams and James Patrick will remain with the team.

Ruff was relieved of his duties shortly after the team held a 90-minute practice, and a day after the Sabres were booed several times by their home fans during a 2-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
