BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Jhonas Enroth stopped 29 shots to help the Buffalo Sabres remain on the fringe of the playoff race with a 1-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

Christian Ehrhoff scored the lone goal, 17 seconds into the third period, when his fortunate carom off the end boards sneaked in behind Steve Mason.

"It bounced up, hit my skate, and went back into the net," said Mason. "I don't play here a lot but the boards here are similar to what Detroit's was and with those boards they can set up plays like that, and fortunately for them, it went in"

Buffalo (17-19-6) snapped a two-game skid and climbed into a tie with New Jersey for 10th in the Eastern Conference standings.

"They're a great organization," said newly signed Sabres defenseman Chad Ruhwedel. "They had a lot of interest all year long and they just stayed with it, so I felt comfortable choosing them, and they gave me a golden opportunity to play today."

Enroth stopped 11 shots in the final period, including getting a piece of Wayne Simmonds' shot from the slot with 50 seconds remaining. For Enroth, it was his third career shutout and first since, Nov. 18, 2011.

The Flyers (17-21-3) lost their fourth straight, squandering an opportunity to jump a point ahead of the Sabres. They've lost four straight in regulation for the first time since Feb. 26-March 6, 2011.

"There's no give up and there's not a chance in hell that we're going to quit," said Sabres forward Pat Kaleta. "And we're going to be ready for tomorrow's game, learn from some of the things that we might not have done a hundred percent this game, and try to be a better team tomorrow."
