Week two of the Sabres coaching search is underway, and as of Monday no candidates have emerged other than Ron Rolston.
Sabres GM Darcy Regier said last week that he would focus initially on Rolston and the staff following the Sabres season ending news conference last Monday. Regier followed that by telling the Rochester media that a decision on the Buffalo coaching situation would be made "fairly soon."
Rolston went 15-11-5 after taking over on an interim basis this season after Lindy Ruff was fired. He has a reputation through his time with USA Hockey, and at the collegiate level for being a very good teacher and developer of young talent.
As of Monday afternoon, a Sabres spokesperson said there was "nothing new to report" on the coach search.
