BUFFALO (wgrz.com) - Syracuse guard Jonny Flynn will explore his NBA draft status while preserving his eligibility at Syracuse after leading the Orange to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
Rev. William Flynn, Jonny's father, tells 2-On-Your-Side's Adam Benigni that Flynn will in fact work out for NBA scouts and GM's to see where he might fall in the NBA draft. Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim had advised Flynn that would be the smartest course of action moving forward. Flynn had said he wanted to return to Syracuse for his junior season.
Flynn has until June 15th to remove his name from the list of players who are draft eligibile if he decides to return to Syracuse. He can't sign with an agent if he wants to retain his college eligibility.
The NBA draft is June 25th.
